Download & install Cosm

The current version is named after Lee "Scratch" Perry, and was released in August 2011.

The Cosm toolkit is built for Max/MSP/Jitter 5.0, for MacOSX and Windows. Cosm comes with an automatic installer, which should work so long as Max is in the usual location. A manual install option is available if not.

If Cosm is installed succesfully, it will print out a version message to the Max window when Max is restarted. The latest version of Cosm is named after Lee "Scratch" Perry:

OSX

Windows

Coming in the next few days - please check back! In the mean-time, check out the earlier versions below.

Windows users: If you have errors when you try to use a Cosm object, you may need to install the latest Quicktime for Windows, and/or the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008 installed.) You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en.

Manual Installation Instructions

Unzip the downloaded archive and copy the following files from the manual install to the Max5 folder on your system, then restart Max.

We plan to release the Cosm source under MIT or BSD license soon, but probably should clean up the code before doing so! Send us an email to wesley or graham at cycling74.com if you have a burning need to see it...
